Unfortunately, there is no prevention for most tumors. The exact reasons for their appearance have not yet been established; it is believed that ultraviolet and ionizing radiation, poor ecology and other factors that are extremely difficult to exclude from a pet’s life play a role in their development. Breast tumors can be prevented. There are studies according to which females spayed before their first heat have a less than 0.05% chance of developing such a malignant tumor. Then, with each heat, this percentage increases. Castration after the age of two years does not reduce the risk of developing neoplasms. Also, eliminating the use of hormonal medications to stop estrus reduces the risk of developing cancer.
Abscesses can be prevented by avoiding self-walking and fights between dogs. It is impossible to predict the development of an allergic reaction to something. But if the allergen is known, then contact of the dog with it should be excluded. Hernias are often congenital, which cannot be prevented. But traumatic hernias can be avoided if you always keep an eye on your pet while walking.
Diagnosis of growths and which doctor to contact?
Before prescribing treatment for lumps and growths, it is necessary to find out the patient’s symptoms.

Causes
The disease is not common, but is not a rare pathology. In most cases, orthopedists associate the appearance of a painful growth with genetic predisposition and hereditary risk factors. In many patients, the formation is observed on both legs at the same time.
When diagnosing the causes of Taylor deformity, they are conventionally divided into several types:
- Post-traumatic. The growth forms after a fracture, improper fusion of bones, against the background of frequent subluxations and dislocations.
- Structural. The reasons are associated with an abnormal disorder during the intrauterine formation of the arch of the foot. Genetically weak ligaments do not hold the fingers in the correct position when walking or running. The fifth metatarsal bone is often deformed due to congenital clubfoot, a pathological absence of small bones in the little toe area. In response to increased load, the bone head grows and changes in the structure of cartilage tissue occur.

The formation of growths is caused by the abnormal structure of the little finger, including the hammer-shaped or dumbbell-shaped bones. At risk are people with a history of cerebral palsy, Lederhosen contracture and meningitis.
An external cause of deformation can be wearing tight shoes with narrow toes and high heels. Such shoes connect the toes, incorrectly redistribute the load on the foot, provoke a fanning of the metatarsal bones, and deform the head.

Inflammations and ulcers appear at the sites of erosion, which heal and turn into a compacted callus.

Dry calluses that feel like calluses are called corns. The cause of their occurrence is compaction of the epidermis as a result of constant rubbing and pressure. This reduces blood circulation in the legs and leads to dead skin.
The most common reason is uncomfortable or small shoes. The most common place for corns to appear is the little toe and big toe; less commonly, they occur between the toes due to flat feet.

- After about a week, the color changes from red to yellow-gray. To the touch, the compacted area is smooth, less often slightly ribbed.

Warts and calluses:

- Interdigital erosion. You can eliminate the development with the help of ointments with an antifungal effect, special powder for shoes, as well as by adjusting your diet and losing weight.
- Keratosis. Thanks to superficial formations, seborrheic keratosis is removed using a laser. Actinic is more dangerous and can be removed by cryodestruction.
- A bone on the finger. At the first stages, the orthopedist will prescribe correction using special shoes, but neglected hallux valgus can only be removed through an expensive, complex operation.
- Tophi. First of all, gout is treated, and a decrease in uric acid in the body helps eliminate tophi.
Malignant growths on the legs are a dangerous type of growth; such growths can only be treated as prescribed by an oncologist after consultation and tests.
Surgical intervention
Treatment with surgery is prescribed for flat feet of 2 and 3 degrees in the absence of results of treatment by other methods.
