Doctor Khoroshev’s orthopedic pillow - nutrition, benefits, consequences, stages

Any person, especially a woman, is graced by a beautiful and confident gait, which depends on many factors. One of which is considered to be a problem with the feet. Some of them can be solved with the help of special insoles. The article will describe who needs orthopedic products and how to choose them correctly.

Many people believe that orthotics are used by people who have foot deformities. They are also used for preventive purposes to avoid various diseases of the legs and spine, as well as to reduce the load on the legs during physical activity. However, you can expect a positive effect from purchased foot treatment products if they are chosen correctly. It is best if the product is selected by a specialist knowledgeable in this field.

Description of the pathology

A healthy foot has longitudinal and transverse arches.
They are very important for good balance and softening of steps when walking. Over time, due to dysfunction of the joints, posture becomes deformed, after which arthrosis and scoliosis may occur. What causes flat feet:

  • low-quality or poorly selected shoes;
  • weight gain;
  • hereditary tendency;
  • leg injuries: fractures, ligament and muscle damage;
  • diseases that cause pathology or impair the development of the musculoskeletal and muscular systems (rickets, poliomyelitis);
  • lack or excess of physical activity.

Custom insole

Today, every person can afford to purchase insoles made specifically for him.

Previously, in order to make individual foot treatments, it was necessary to make a plaster cast of the foot. Today, modern technology has reached the point where it is possible to make an impression using computer programs.

To make an impression, a person stands on a platform that is connected to a computer. Using software, the data is displayed on the computer screen. Thus, the specialist determines the exact size of the foot and identifies the source of the problem that needs to be eliminated.

Just like fingerprints, the shape of the foot has its own characteristics. Before manufacturing the product, the specialist measures the client’s weight and height. The type of shoes, lifestyle and condition of the patient are also taken into account. Impressions are taken of both feet, as they are different. Making foot treatments usually takes about 15 minutes.

Background

To understand what such a brand is and where it came from, it is worth paying attention to the features of Khoroshev’s life and professional activities.

The description of some stages most fully reveals the level of his knowledge and skills, which, after decades of medical practice, he shares with others free of charge through consultations, as well as through his orthopedic products.

short biography

Vladimir Stepanovich was born in 1954 on June 15 in a family where his father was an engineer and his mother was a school teacher. After graduating, in 1971 he entered the Russian State Medical Institute (Rostov State Medical Institute), from where, after completing the 4th year, he transferred to the military medical faculty in Nizhny Novgorod.

Since 1977, he served as a military doctor in the Far North and Afghanistan. Subsequently, for his selfless work, which saved and extended the lives of a huge number of military and civilians, he was promoted ahead of schedule to the rank of medical service major, receiving the Order “For Service to the Motherland in the Armed Forces of the USSR” 3rd degree.

Over the next two years, he improved his qualifications at the Leningrad Military Medical Academy named after. Kirov and before being transferred to the reserve in 1993, he served in the Moscow military hospital named after. Burdenko. Until 2004, he practiced as the head of the department, and then as the chief surgeon at the 81st Moscow Hospital.

Brand emergence

In 2004, the country’s radio channel “Radio Russia” began broadcasting the program “Planet of Health”, in which Vladimir Stepanovich was and remains the permanent main presenter.

The main topic is always traditional and alternative medicine. Particularly a lot of time is devoted to the standard problems of many people - back and joint pain, poor sleep and fatigue, decreased immunity.

After all, there are fewer drugs available at an affordable price to get rid of them than is required.

What did the doctor and presenter do? Around 2014, along with medical consulting for print and television media, Vladimir Stepanovich began producing products with his name, which included orthopedic pillows, insoles, collars and seats, as well as mattresses.

Each item contains bioactive particles that purify the air around, which distinguishes it from similar products of other brands.

How to choose an orthopedic pillow?

Healthy, sound sleep, the absence of migraines, neck and back pain largely depend on what pillow we sleep on and how level we sit. Irregular shape or excessive rigidity can lead to many hours of searching for a comfortable position and impaired blood flow, the most obvious consequence of which is severe fatigue and lethargy.

For this reason, it is necessary to approach the purchase of an individual therapeutic pillow responsibly, so that the shape, size and filling meet the needs. In addition, if you don’t know, you can come across scammers who produce or sell low-quality goods with fillings that are hazardous to health or poorly sewn.

Tips and classification

Individual therapeutic pillows are selected in 2 stages. First, by what and how they will be used, then by physical characteristics, manufacturer and cost.

The purpose of the pillow is:

  • for sleep;
  • for sitting;
  • for legs.

These differ from ordinary pillows in the filling.

For office chairs and chairs, the products are also different, some are attached to the back and may have side bolsters, others are made in the shape of a bone, donut or circle and are placed on the seat.

The latter are required for the prevention of hemorrhoids, postpartum and others associated with damage to the musculoskeletal system, injuries, as well as diseases of the genitourinary system.

A leg pillow is necessary if a person works a lot while standing or on the move.

It is recommended for pregnancy, fractures and stretch marks, as well as injuries to the ankles and knee joints. There are small ones (for calves or feet) and for the entire length of the legs.

The parameters of the pillow are selected based on:

  • size;
  • forms;
  • height and width;
  • rigidity;
  • filler;
  • prices.

How to choose insoles?

Frequent walking and being on your feet all day lead to swelling, pain in the feet and knees, which can subsequently cause flat feet, joint deformities and curvature of the lumbar region in an attempt to take a stable position. This, in turn, affects the internal organs, they are displaced or experience excessive pressure, their work and blood flow are disrupted, and all systems of the body are affected along the chain.

You can avoid all this at an early stage if you consult a doctor in time and purchase therapeutic insoles for individual daily use at home and at work, in any season of the year.

Varieties

All shoe insoles are classified according to a number of parameters, where the main thing is age and foot size, respectively. They can be bought at any medical equipment store and even a pharmacy, or ordered (a foot print is made to form an individual insole in accordance with specific anatomical features), in which case the cost will rise, but only slightly.

The gradation of insoles is made according to:

  • Intended purpose (for heel spurs, rheumatoid arthritis and flat feet, osteoarthritis, during pregnancy).
  • Marking (VP with different numerical values, the presence of supinary inserts, pronators).
  • Material (silicone, gel, frame structure).

Experts recommend using the services of custom-made insoles manufacturers, since in this case not only the anatomical features of the foot are taken into account, but also the patient’s lifestyle, as well as the type of shoes worn.

The origins of magnetic therapy, modern healing technology

The Earth's magnetic field protects all life on it from extinction under the influence of various deadly radiations from the Universe. One way or another, from the creation of life, plants, animals and people interacted with the planet’s magnetic field . In the living body of any creature, iron ions deliver oxygen to all organs through the movement of the blood. Other metals in the blood supply the entire body with essential elements. Some fluids remove waste from the body. Such movement creates the living creature’s own magnetic biofield. Simply put, every living organism has its own magnetic biofield. The interaction of the Earth's field and the body's biofield actively influences all metabolic processes.

The development of civilization drove the population into cities. In them, people live mostly in shielded rooms. The frames of the houses consist of metal reinforcement; huge cable routes entangle everything around. A city dweller travels in a car or dives into the subway, but is still in a space shielded from the Earth’s magnetic field. Deprivation of interaction between fields began to have a bad effect on human health.

The first person to become concerned about the disruption of the interaction between the magnetic fields of the Earth and humans was Professor Nakagawa who described this phenomenon in 1950. It is called "magnetic field deficiency syndrome" . The study of the insufficiency of field interaction has made it possible to prove its influence on almost all health problems of modern man, from cardiovascular diseases to prostatitis and gynecology. The work of doctors to learn how to influence health with the help of magnets gave rise to an entire industry without drug relief of diseases - therapy with magnets.

Daily load

A person cannot live without movement. Walking, running and moving from one place to another every day - these actions help us solve all kinds of problems. The load on the legs, in particular the feet, is especially noticeable. All tensions in the process of movement form the dynamics of the feet.

The foot is the first link that comes into contact with the surface and takes on the stability of the body. Then it transmits tension and distributes it throughout all tissues of the body.

Attention! The average person takes from 3 to 5 thousand steps per day. Even modern prostheses made using the latest technologies can be used with such a load for about 3 years.

If the load on the feet increases, pathological changes in their structure may appear, and diseases of the extremities (arthritis, flat feet) may occur. Therefore, we need to help our feet in a timely manner in order to prevent or avoid the unpleasant consequences of these manifestations.

What should you consider when choosing orthopedic insoles?

A confident gait is the adornment of any person. Gait is influenced by many factors. These include foot problems. Some of them can be solved without seeking the help of a doctor.

Orthopedic insoles can make a person’s life easier. But how to choose them? Is it worth buying children's insoles? How to choose products that suit a specific person and take into account his characteristics? How much does such a product cost?

Before buying this product, it is worth understanding why it is being purchased. Despite stereotypes, orthopedic insoles are needed not only to eliminate foot deformities. They can be used to prevent various diseases or to reduce the load on the feet during training.

But the positive effect of “wearing” orthopedic products can only be if they have been selected correctly. To select the right products, a person should seek the help of a specialist who is competent in this field, or read the information provided below.

If a person spends most of the day on his feet, which increases the load on his feet, then he should think about buying orthopedic insoles. This problem is especially acute when a person begins to experience unpleasant sensations of pain in the arch of the foot.

In addition, orthopedic insoles are required for athletes who have arch problems, as well as for pregnant women. In the pharmacy you can find 2 types of orthopedic insoles: hard and soft.

Both types of these products have the right to exist, but they have different purposes.

Orthopedic insoles with a rigid frame are produced for people who walk for a long time and do not experience pain (only subsidence of the arch and fatigue). These products are suitable for any shoe.

For pregnant women, people with diabetes, arthritis or other vascular diseases, as well as for athletes, products with a soft-textured frame are intended.

Deformation of the orthopedic product in shoes should not occur. Otherwise, the person will not experience the positive effects of the insoles.

In almost all stores specializing in the sale of orthopedic products, you can not only purchase orthopedic insoles, but also order individual ones “for yourself.” How much would a person have to pay for a product of this type?

The production of orthopedic insoles will cost the buyer 2-3 thousand rubles. The cost of finished orthopedic products depends on their type and on who they are intended for. Rubles will have to be paid for ready-made preventive products for children.

Products (for children) that have reinforced instep supports will cost the buyer rubles. For rubles you can buy ready-made products for adults.

The price of a product can increase to 4 - 6 thousand rubles if a person requires parts in products, the appearance of which depends on individual characteristics.

The cost of this product may vary significantly between different manufacturers. This depends on individual production costs and the nature of the material used in the manufacture of insoles.

The foot must “breathe”, so the orthopedic insole must be made of genuine leather (without adding other materials). This material is able to adapt to the shape of the foot, so it does not cause discomfort or pain.

The basis of the product is foamed polyethylene.

Products cannot last “as long as you want,” as many people think. The established service life of the product for children and adults is 2 years. After 2 years, it is better to replace orthopedic insoles.

Often the cause of flat feet is shoes.

The risk of such deformation depends on how much time a person spends in shoes (the relationship is directly proportional).

In order to reduce the negative impact of shoes on the foot, therapeutic insoles and various arch supports were invented.

Arch supports and orthopedic insoles for transverse flat feet have a positive effect on the feet. They are aimed at reducing pain in the legs while walking, as well as correcting changes in the feet.

Before using this product, you should seek the help of a specialist. He will help you make the right choice.

Independent selection of orthopedic products can lead to negative consequences (worsening of diseases).

To carefully select orthopedic insoles for transverse flatfoot, you need to know the degree of foot deformation. If you don’t have flat feet yet, you can use these products to prevent diseases.

These insoles are used both for the prevention and treatment of hallux valgus.

Often, longitudinal flatfoot is complicated by improper position of the foot, “sinking” and falling inward.

In stores you can find 2 types of insoles used for hallux valgus: leather and rag (made of hygienic linen).

Leather products used for hallux valgus are distinguished by their durability. Caring for flat valgus insoles is not difficult because dirt from their surface can be removed with a substance containing alcohol. The cost of leather products is much higher than hygiene products.

Flat-valgus sanitary linen products are more affordable. Compared to leather, rag products are softer. That is why they are used to correct hallux valgus in children.

Products for the prevention and treatment of hallux valgus are used together with regular shoes.

The product is placed inside the shoe, so such insoles are used for shoes with a high, hard heel.

It is important to remember that the product can be trimmed along the top and inner edges with your own hands, that is, a person is able to “fit” the product to a specific pair of shoes.

Orto products

One of the largest manufacturers of orthopedic products in Russia is the Orto company. The most modern and advanced technologies are used in the production of individual products.

In this regard, they produce insoles and instep supports for various types and models of shoes. Orthopedic insoles are characterized by aesthetics.

They are hypoallergenic and have good shock absorption properties.

This brand also produces special Orto orthopedic insoles for winter. Designed specifically for winter boots, they have a bowl-shaped heel.

These winter products are characterized by special heat-saving properties.

Many people believe that winter insoles from this company are better than the same products from another brand.

Insoles called “Doctor Khoroshev” were created to prevent flat feet and combat this disease, as well as many others. The products are made from environmentally friendly material.

Silicone products have a special structure: their middle part is raised. This allows you to create the most comfortable position for your foot.

Doctor Khoroshev products can be used in any closed-toe shoes. The product is designed in such a way that it has unloading elements in different parts of the foot.

Doctor Khoroshev products can improve blood circulation and massage the feet.

These products cannot be purchased in pharmacies - only on special websites. Medical products of the Doctor Khoroshev brand are often advertised on the radio.

The products gained great popularity thanks to the program “Planet of Health,” hosted by Dr. Khoroshev, who talked about the problems of maintaining health.

Thus, radio played an important role in the creation of the Doctor Khoroshev brand. On the Internet you can find many reviews about the products of this company.

Many people recommend products from the Doctor Khoroshev brand, as they actually, in their opinion, are effective.

Silicone insoles

Silicone products have a therapeutic and prophylactic function.

The silicone that forms the basis of the product follows the characteristics of the foot. This affects the particular popularity of this material.

Silicone insoles reduce the load on the spine (when wearing high-heeled shoes) and also avoid the formation of calluses.

In addition, silicone orthopedic products eliminate the appearance of corns and reduce the risk of developing flat feet and hallux valgus.

Such products act as an effective preventive measure to reduce the development of pathologies associated with deformation of the musculoskeletal system.

Silicone insoles come in different types (depending on their location in the shoe):

  • in the sock (Silicone inserts reduce the load on the foot);
  • in the heel (Silicone heel inserts soften the hard backs of shoes and securely fix the foot);
  • along the entire length (Silicone products allow you to fix a comfortable position of the foot in the shoe).

These products can be made at home. To make this product with your own hands, you need to take a pair of ordinary insoles.

You should place your foot on the insole and then make a mark between your thumb and forefinger.

A pre-made cotton ball should be placed in the area marked with a pen.

Next comes a very important stage (without it the product will not work) - making an instep support with your own hands. It can be done using a medical bandage no more than 5 centimeters wide. You should fix this bandage at the arch of the foot and secure it with a plaster.

After the bandage is secured with adhesive tape, you will need to secure it with thick fabric (for example, old jeans). You need to cut out a piece that fits the parameters and sew it on.

The second insole must be made with your own hands in the same way, but the insoles on the insoles may differ because both feet are deformed differently.

The advantage of individual insoles made by yourself is their low cost. In addition, a person makes this product “for himself,” taking into account all the individual characteristics of the feet.

Making insoles with your own hands is a great solution for a mother and child, since purchasing this product for a growing child is a real problem.

What to do when deformation makes itself felt?

Many begin to look for home treatment options and independently select options to correct the situation. Often the search path leads to "Splints" - structures that are supposed to put the bone in place. But if you look at how it works, especially in the later stages, the splint will correct the bulge in the same way that a hat will correct the shape of the head. Moreover, it can be traumatic and can lead to even more pain in the problem area. Due to compression, blood circulation worsens, and soft tissues are injured under pressure. In addition, it is important to adjust everything correctly so as not to cause further damage and speed up the deformation process.

It is important not to delay visiting a specialist - he will be able to determine the degree of development of the problem and advise on its solution. If you delay a visit to the doctor for too long, complications can reach the point where even surgery cannot completely eliminate the problem. For diagnosis, radiography will be an advantage, since it gives an idea of the general location of the bone as accurately as possible. It is important not to confuse the symptoms of hallux valgus with other diseases in order to choose the right treatment.

Khorosheva

What does the product consist of?
Dr. Khoroshev is the inventor of insoles that are designed to treat common foot diseases, including flat feet.

Dr. Khoroshev’s insoles are made exclusively from natural, breathable material – silicone gel. Foot treatments are made in such a way that the middle is slightly higher. This structure slightly compresses the foot, which allows you to take the most comfortable position for yourself. Khoroshev orthopedic insoles are used in closed shoes and are selected according to size. The products are made in such a way that blood circulation improves, and also massages the heel and forefoot.

An orthopedic product can be considered correctly selected if it is comfortable to stand, walk and run in the shoes.

Pain in the joints and back: what causes it?

Statistics show that every 3rd person over the age of 25 experiences discomfort in the back and limbs at the end of the day, and wakes up in the morning feeling tired. All this negatively affects the general condition, level of performance, and quality of life. But if you use Arthroslip insoles every day, you can forget about these unpleasant symptoms for a long time.

As for the reasons for their occurrence, most often the provocateurs of discomfort are diseases of the musculoskeletal system and joints:

  • arthritis;
  • arthrosis;
  • osteoporosis;
  • osteochondrosis;
  • scoliosis;
  • rheumatism, etc.

Sleeping completely naked is very good for your health, both physical and mental!

Sleeping without any clothing helps prevent your body from overheating. But somnologists and physiologists have found that even slight overheating of the body during sleep disrupts the production of growth hormone and melatonin. Moreover, scientists have found that natural body temperature also ensures better restoration of skin cells.

Sleeping naked also reduces the level of the stress hormone cortisol in the blood (a person who tends to sleep completely naked wakes up calmer and remains balanced throughout the day) and helps control hunger. When the body overheats and after a not very restful sleep in the morning, a person eats noticeably more than if he slept naked. By the way, medical researchers have proven that the most beneficial sleep is 7 hours, and it is best to sleep in the fetal position.

I will not give examples of numerous letters asking for recommendations to help get rid of snoring. I'll just answer them...

Pillow and insoles “Doctor Khoroshev”. Prices and reviews

Recently, Radio Russia has been increasingly broadcasting advertising materials for medicinal products under the “Doctor Khoroshev” brand, and this is not surprising. This radio played an important role in creating the “Doctor Khoroshev” brand: The popular program “Planet of Health,” which our doctor hosted from 2004 to 2007, attracted a large audience.

This is probably why she has been on the air again since 2012. In these programs, or rather even radio plays, Dr. Khoroshev, in a perfectly choreographed actor’s voice, told us about the important problems of maintaining health and shared his experience. And the listeners’ letters sounded like complete works of art. In general, everything was very beautiful and professional.

Needless to say, it would be a sin not to use such a base to promote your own brand. So a couple of years ago, our doctor moved “from words to action” and decided to start selling medicinal items. In fact, it’s not right to sell Chinese devices under the guise of advanced medicine; only his neighbors on advertising platforms on Radio Russia do this.

Flat feet is a disease that affects up to sixty percent of people on Earth; the audience is more than extensive. With advanced variants of flat feet, a person acquires unpleasant symptoms in the form of pain in the legs, calves, increased fatigue, etc. To prevent flat feet from appearing, or at least from developing into a more severe form, Doctor Khoroshev offers silicone insoles designed to naturally distribute body weight when walking, improve blood circulation and massage.

They can only be purchased through radio advertising and on websites; they do not have a set price and are not sold in pharmacies. At the moment they do not have a sufficient number of independent reviews from customers.

In addition to the orthopedic effects inherent in other similar products (special shape, cushion that follows the curves of the neck) - the Doctor Khoroshev pillow -

Contains antibacterial ions and bioactive nanoparticles. They rid the air of harmful gases and toxic substances.

How much do Doctor Khoroshev insoles cost?

I found a huge number of online stores online (for the Moscow region, but they also work with others, sending orders with postal delivery services).

As I understand it, it is difficult or impossible to find Khoroshev’s orthopedic insoles in retail chain stores.

Only in specialized ones related to medical equipment.

To avoid fakes, you can first go to the official website of Doctor Khoroshev (see link), where he personally answers questions.

somehow they don’t inspire confidence, judging by one interface.

It is better to get information through the official page of Doctor Khoroshev.

Because there are a lot of warnings about fakes on the Internet.

How can you tell if you’ve never seen the packaging in person?!

Cost of orthopedic insoles

It is known that ready-made insoles and custom-made products have different prices.

If a person decides to make medicinal products for the foot individually, he will have to pay about rubles. While finished products for adults cost about rubles. Finished products for children cost approximately rubles. And if a child needs a reinforced arch support, then it will cost the parents rubles. Prices are approximate, since the price may vary significantly from different manufacturers. The cost depends on the materials used.

Some people think that orthopedic insoles can last as long as they want, however, this is far from the case. Experts recommend wearing products for no more than two years, provided that the products have been properly cared for.

The production of orthopedic insoles will cost the buyer 2-3 thousand rubles. The cost of finished orthopedic products depends on their type and on who they are intended for. Wednesday, September 05, 2012 22:09 + to quote book From the newspaper “Bulletin of Healthy Lifestyle” 2000 23 The year 2000 is ending (one is tempted to say: a century). But no, it’s still a year. After all, I have been answering your letters all this year and not a century (but it would be great!) So, about letters screaming from physical and mental pain. The letters are very different, as are the people who wrote them. I have read thousands of letters this year. They enriched me with knowledge. I worked as a surgeon for many years, sometimes without leaving the operating room for days, and while participating in the Afghan war, I had to operate on wounded soldiers and officers for weeks, standing on the floor squelching with blood. It seemed to me that, having worked for decades within walls that had absorbed so much human pain and fear, it was difficult to be surprised by anything. No, it turns out that's not the case. Some letters were simply deafening. There are not too many such “soul-tearing” messages, but not too few. Having answered each such letter, putting it in an envelope (as a rule, the people who wrote such lines put in a “return envelope”), I get dressed and go to the nearest mailbox, even if it’s deep night outside. It’s calmer in your soul when you feel that the letter has “already gone away.” Although I understand with my mind that this letter will be taken out in the morning, and that if I throw it in the mailbox at dawn, and not at night, nothing will change. But this is done with the mind, and the soul demands: “Send it now, right now.” And it seems that the letter sent “right now” - whether at night or during the day - immediately went to that distant distance where it is waiting for it, no, where it is really waiting for it - again not - where my letter is waiting (or waiting) with bated breath or a letter from my son, also a doctor. From the first lines of the letter, I can clearly imagine even the timbre of the writer’s voice. The most interesting thing is that, when meeting with some people whose letters I had the opportunity to read, I was surprised to note that this was the case - the voice of these people was exactly the way I imagined it to be when reading the lines of the letters. Often letters begin with the words: “I have been reading the newsletter for 6 (7,8,9, 10) months. Why don’t you write about atherosclerosis (or hypertension, or angina, or...). Yes, my dear compatriots (and not only), our newsletter wrote about these diseases, but a little earlier. And quite often letters begin with such dissatisfied words: “I have been your subscriber for 2 years. My nephew was diagnosed with Becker myopathy. And in your newsletter I still haven’t found a description of this disease and how it is treated.” Yes, indeed, our newspaper was not honored to write about this disease. Why? Yes, because this disease, despite all its seriousness, is rare, rather the rarest... But we have repeated and will repeat materials on arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, cancer of various localizations, and varicose veins of the lower extremities, because these are common ailments. And if at least every 10-12 people out of 100 who suffer from them follow our recommendations, then this means hundreds of thousands of recovered people, or people whose disease development has been significantly slowed down. By the way, those who write to us about rare diseases almost always receive comprehensive information in a reply letter. Not always quickly, but they get it. And there are letters of this kind;.. On pages 11-12, complaints are described from son Nikolai, daughter-in-law Zina, son-in-law Misha, grandchildren Petya, Dasha, Klim, Ruslan, sisters Zoya and Klava, neighbor Ulyana. All this ends with a request to give them the “correct diagnoses”, to describe why they fell ill with these particular diseases and how (and with what) to treat them. Do you think there are not enough letters like this? Honestly, quite a lot. And you know, I understand these people. When you write a letter, you think that you are the only one writing. Or rather, with your mind you understand what many people write, but with your heart... In one of the letters I received in July, there were 32 (thirty-two) questions numbered (how many would you think?), and it ended like this: “For each of the questions I am waiting thoughtful, balanced response and please take each question very, very, seriously.” Before this, I had read letters with 17 or 24 questions, but thirty-two... But my dears, if I could answer so many questions, I would sit on the Nobel Committee. I answered 8 questions out of 32. And 2 months later I received a letter from the same reader with a reprimand for the unanswered questions and an offer to answer them, and again they were not rewritten in a new letter. It was understood that I treasured that first letter like the apple of my eye. In almost all letters (with a few exceptions), the main motive is despair, dull, ineradicable despair. I, as an experienced doctor, can say with absolute confidence in my words that people die not from the severity of the disease itself, but from the fact that they believed in the inevitability of death. They believed - and they died! They die not from the disease itself, no matter how serious it may be, but from fear of the disease, from the seeming pointlessness of the struggle for their lives and the lives of their loved ones. One of the most remarkable doctors, researchers, travelers - the Frenchman Alain Bombard, after his many-day journey through the deserted part of the Atlantic Ocean, which he undertook on an ordinary rubber boat solely with the goal of proving the unprecedented capabilities of the human body in the struggle for survival, wrote: “Victims of legendary shipwrecks who died prematurely, I know: it was not the sea that killed you, it was not hunger that killed you, it was not thirst that killed you! Rocking on the waves to the plaintive cries of seagulls, you died of fear.” Alain Bombard is not a sailor, but an ordinary “earthly” person, a doctor by vocation and profession, a great lover of life, who set out to prove that people who find themselves in a difficult situation at sea should believe in the possibility of survival, even if at first glance the situation is simple hopeless. The main thing is to believe! Those who said to themselves: “That’s it, I’m lost” perished. This applies to any dangerous situation - a shipwreck, desert, impenetrable jungle, winter taiga, serious illness. The main thing is not to utter this fatal: “That’s it... I... died...”. To start. And a little later, be able to say to yourself: “I can do anything!” There is so much indescribable despair on the verge of horror in these lines: “I was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. with mts (that’s exactly what it says) to the liver.” Or: “My 24-year-old granddaughter has multiple sclerosis and has lost the ability to move and control her pelvic organs. And she has a 2-year-old son. I am 76 years old, I am disabled 1st class. We have no one else, what should we do?” Do you know how many of these letters I have to read every day? I don’t even dare tell you this figure, because most of you may have the idea that a normal person cannot let so much human pain pass through him and not either go crazy or not harden his soul in self-defense. No, I have not gone crazy, and my soul has not become covered with scabs. I will say more, I can even cry over the letter. That also happens. I’ll say it again: in nature there are no hopeless situations in general and no hopeless diseases in particular. In Afghanistan, where I had to take part in the war (as the leading surgeon of an airborne assault brigade), I clearly understood this for the first time, and all my subsequent medical practice only strengthened me in this conviction. I, of course, like every military doctor who participated in hostilities, met people who suffered such injuries, such illnesses that they were given the final verdict - “that’s it, he will never be healthy again.” Many, unfortunately for them, believed this. And indeed, they never rose again. But there were also those who did not believe it. So they went and returned to work, to a full-blooded life. It is difficult to overestimate the meaning of this phrase: “I CAN DO ANYTHING.” Learn, dear people, one life-giving truth: the main thing in life, in any difficult situation, is FAITH in yourself, in your strength. You will achieve anything if you believe you can. While at war, I repeatedly encountered cases, one of which I will describe to you. This was in November 1982. Our air assault brigade was completing one of the major combat operations. The time had come when the flow of wounded began to decrease, which means that we - surgeons - could already take on the operating table those wounded who, due to the severity of their condition, would have been doomed if they arrived en masse (there are such cruel laws of war when in order to to save more people, those wounded are taken to the operating table whose chances of salvation are preferable). A couple of helicopters landed on us, from which they unloaded three very seriously wounded—a senior lieutenant (23 years old) and two sergeants (one 19, the other 20 years old). They ran into an ambush, many died, and these guys were seriously injured, and our helicopters managed to catch them. The heaviest was Sergei N-ov - he was literally riddled and riddled with bullets. His left leg was torn off by an explosive bullet at the level of the thigh, penetrating bullet wounds to the right half of the chest with damage to the lung, abdomen with damage to the liver, stomach: from the intestines of both the large and small - it was a mess, the right kidney was torn off. When he was unloaded from the helicopter, we, the surgeons, who had already seen a lot in that war, decided: “No, the guy is not a survivor.” And he, this boy, opens his eyes and whispers with lips caked from blood loss: “Doctor, I absolutely have to survive, my mother has only me, she will die if I die. I will definitely survive, you just help me survive.” And he survived, you understand, he survived with injuries incompatible with life! And the other two wounded—an officer and a second sergeant—died soon after the stretcher with them was placed on the ground. And although their wounds were severe, they were still not as serious as Sergei’s. I am absolutely convinced that only a huge faith in the need to survive made a miracle happen, and... Sergei survived. So there have been, are and will be miracles in the world. And these are not miracles, in the usual sense of the word, but enormous, infinitely intelligent work of the body. Believing in the life of the organism. This applies to any injury, any condition, any illness, any life situation. I can tell you enough cases like Sergei’s, and not just me, but everyone who went through the war, especially doctors. And for FAITH to get involved in the work of life support, not much is needed - you need to fall asleep and wake up with the thought: “With every day and with every step I - praise the Lord - feel better and better,” - regardless of what religion you give preference and whether you give at all (the last option is not the best), repeat this self-motivation formula as often as possible. Gradually, this thought will go into the subconscious, and it - the most powerful force - will turn on those forces of the body that are in reserve, and will turn on strictly dosing, exactly as much force as is necessary in this particular case. And relatives and friends do not need to shed countless tears out of pity for a sick relative. This is not good for the sick person. Your condition has a very strong, powerful effect on the condition of your relative. Your despair, even if you try to hide it from him (from the patient, that is), is still transmitted to him, no matter how skillful you are in acting. And vice versa, your confidence, deep inner confidence in a successful outcome is a huge, colossal force that contributes to the recovery of a loved one, be it a husband, wife, son, daughter, brother, sister. You probably understand, dear readers and subscribers, why I am writing about this. Yes, because I really want to protect you from despair, because those who lose hope die. I ask you to read again and again the words of Alain Bombard, which I quoted above. There is no diagnosis: no verdict, no matter how fatal it may seem, even to the doctor who announced it. Even if the doctor believes in the diagnosis-sentence, but you don’t believe it. No, believe in the diagnosis, but you don’t have to believe in the fact that it is a verdict. Analyzing, thinking about all your letters! together and each separately, came to the conclusion that: 1. Academician A.P. Kolesov was right in his statement - rare diseases are rare. Therefore, newspaper pages will still more often contain materials about the most common diseases. 2. It is not possible to answer all letters, but we must strive for this. Do not be offended in any way if you sent a letter and did not receive a response. Responding to all messages is not the easiest task. 3. We, our dear friends and associates, our well-wishers and inspirers, really love you and appreciate every letter you write. Each! It’s just that very often we don’t have enough energy and space in the newspaper for every letter to receive an answer or see the light of day. Vladimir KHOROSHEV, consultant doctor.
